both interior and exterior walls and ceilings. It
dries very quickly and cleans up easily with plain
soap and water. In many cases, it is possible to
paint two coats of latex paint in just one day as
it takes only a few hours of drying time between
coats. Latex paint also has fewer odors than oil
paint, and typically has lower levels of volatile
organic compounds (VOC).
For most all household
painting jobs latex paint is the best choice.
Today’s improved latex paint products have allowed
for the use of latex paint in nearly all
applications that has traditionally called for oil
base paint.
Oil based paints should be
used for metal surfaces outside the home because
they have a rust inhibiter that will protect the
metal surfaces from corrosion. In addition, oil
based paints should be used on surfaces that have
been previously painted with oil based paint.
