Coffee filters were first made
to catching wet coffee grinds while the brewed
liquid coffee passes through the filter. The coffee
filter has a distinct texture, made of coarse long
fiber crepe paper that lends itself many other
uses. In addition, they are so very inexpensive.
Coffee filters are not just made for making coffee,
they can be used for many other uses.
Most
everyday household items are known to serve other
purposes. The coffee filter exemplifies this
versatility better than most other household items.
Other ways to use coffee
filters:
1.
If you do not have a
sink drain filter, a coffee filter will do just
fine.
2.
Coffee filters make
an excellent cleaning tool for glass and television
screens. Just spray a cleaning agent on a coffee
filter and clean anything that is glass.
3.
Coffee filters make
an excellent shoe polisher. Simply apply a little
shoe polish to the filter and polish away to give
shoes extra sparkly shine.
4.
To use as an air
freshener put baking soda or potpourri inside a
filter and tie it together with a tie twist and
place in a dresser drawer, bathroom, or anywhere
else you want to smell fresh.
5.
Coffee filters make
a great grease absorber. Use one to mop a pizza
that has a lot of grease on it before you start to
devour it.
6.
Coffee filters make
excellent fodder for art projects. They tend to
work like tissue paper but hold together better.
One way of coloring a basic white coffee filter is
to submerge it in a dish with food coloring and let
it dry. Once you have your desired color, stack the
filters and staple together, then fan out the
layers. The resulting flower can be used in a bowl
as a centerpiece or strung together to make a
garland.
7.
Coffee filters can
be used as a packing insulator instead of newspaper
between dishes when packing them in a box. They are
more or less the same size as a salad plate and are
equally as thick as a page of newspaper.
8.
Coffee filters make
excellent packing insulators for Christmas
decorations.
