Under Tile Heating
Under Floor Heating
Overview:
There are many benefits to installing an
under tile heating system. Uynder tile floor heating
is a fantastic way to heat your floors in a way
without it being visible or using up valuable wall
space as a radiator might. Under tile heating is
installed on top of the sub-floor, underneath the
finished flooring, whether it’s wood or a tiled
floor.
Under floor heating can be installed as either your
main source of heating for a room or as a secondary
heating source to keep floors warm. As the heat
rises you'll be getting the most from the under
floor heating system without all the heat rising to
the ceiling before warming the room as it does from
most traditional heating systems that rely on
convection. An under floor radiant floor heat
system is efficient and there is no sound from
expanding pipes and heating units.
Because our feet are a natural thermostat for the
body and are nice and warm it's more than likely
that the rest of the body is warm too as the heat
radiates from the floor upward.
Traditional heating methods such as with radiators
and baseboard heating systems, the heat is above
head level which often creates a stuffy sensation
rather than heating the body. Under floor heating
systems offer a way to heat a room and your body
from the ground up.
Under floor heating systems are easy to install.
Nearly any plumbing service can install a system
that is hardly any more expensive than conventional
heating systems. Installing an under floor heating
system can be a DIY home improvement project if you
are contemplating a renovation of a room. If there
is already a forced hot water heating system in the
home that includes a radiator or baseboard unit in
the room the water source can be routed to an under
floor system quite easily.
Modern under tile or under floor heating
systems are cost effective and many come with a
lifetime warranty.
An under floor heating system can be combined with
an energy efficient and independent digital
thermostat to provide control and flexibility over
settings desired temperature for the room. In
addition, if you have a forced hot water heating
system in your home the under floor system can be
just another zone of
the system.
In many new homes under floor heating is becoming a
standard feature to energy efficiency. I can
actually reduce energy bills by up to 30%. This is
heavily dependent on variables in the home such as
installing insulation below the floors. This
ensures that the heat generated from the heating
system doesn't radiate down through the subfloor
rather than directing it up into the room.
Under tile heating helps remove moisture from the
floors making it drier, more hygienic, and inhibits
the growth of dust mites and mold that depend on
moisture for survival. This can improve conditions
for asthma sufferers or people with dust related
allergy problems.
