New Light Fixtures for Your Bathroom
Bathroom Lights
Introduction:
Before you buy
another light bulb to replace the incandescent
ceiling light in your bathroom, think twice about
it. Don’t live with the same boring and poor
bathroom lighting for the next few years. There are
many new light designs that work well in bathrooms.
Poor and bland lighting can only make your bathroom
experience horrible. Not only do they offer poor
light to see inside your toilet, shower or bath
spar, poor lighting doesn’t permit sense of comfort
and coziness that you should enjoy in your
bathroom. If your bathroom lights are dated and
drab, it’s time for new light fixtures for your
bathroom.
Bathroom lighting is an important part of the
bathroom furnishings. To get it right there needs
to be a balance of the three elements; task,
ambient, and accent lighting. With only one set of
lights you can't achieve all those elements with
any certainty.
Most bathrooms do well in achieving adequate
ambient lighting but that alone wouldn't insure
full brightness to the room.
Task lighting is critical because task lights
provide and focus concentrated lighting to specific
areas where activities are performed. Shower
bathing, reading on the commode, and grooming at
the vanity mirror all need focused task lights so
these tasks can be done efficiently. Ambient or
general luminance is also important for insuring
safety and ease of movement inside the room. Accent
lighting really helps in creating a cozy atmosphere
in your bathroom space.
To obtain proper lighting your bathroom, don't use
incandescent light bulbs any longer. Replace the
old light fixtures with a whole new set of bathroom
light fixtures. There are many choices to choose
from that will provide you with a complete new
bathroom look.
Recessed light and track lights give full and
concentrated beams into your shower and toilet
zones. For the vanity where make-up applications,
hair styling, and shaving is done, wall sconces on
either side of the mirror work well. The general
brightness into the bathroom will never look so
good and you can hang gorgeous small chandeliers
and stylish pendant lights from the ceiling for a
final touch of elegance. For accent tone lighting
install under-cabinet lighting in those little
storage shelves or put up LED lights by a wall
divider. Position track lights to light tiled or
marble walls to add character to the area.
Installing new light fixtures for your bathroom is
a great DIY project. You don’t need to be an
electrician to update your light fixtures. In a
couple of hours you can give your bathroom a
complete new look just by focusing on new and
improved lights.
