Introduction:
Most home
owners have gardens in their backyards. The gardens
not only consist of flowers and shrubs, they often
include a garden bench. Garden benches offer a
great place to take a break on a hot summer day or
a place to enjoy a refreshment in the garden.
Refurbishing a garden bench is a
relatively easy DIY homeowner task. In most cases
the old bench must be completely disassembled and
the wood and hardware replaced and then painted.
Most store-bought garden benches
are made with oak wood. The oak wood requires
refinishing every couple of years to protect it
from the elements. It is much better to use
pressure treated wood or mahogany. Both these kinds
of wood will last for years in the elements without
refinishing.
