Kitchen and Bathroom Faucets
Overview:
Faucets and
bathroom facets are a vital part of your kitchen and bathroom and
need to be just as exclusive as the rest the room. Your kitchen and
bathroom faucets should coordinate well with the surrounding
furnishings. Even if you are remodeling the kitchen or the bathroom
the faucets are one of the first things that you should want to
change in keeping with the aesthetics of the whole house.
Today there is such a wide
variety to choose from when it comes to kitchen and bathroom
faucets. There are a lot many more choices as compared to days gone
by. Those were the days when you were absolutely thrilled if you
even had a kitchen faucet so you didn’t have to go out for water and
haul it in by the bucket load. Right after the faucet entered the
kitchen the water heater was introduced in the home. Hot water just
by opening the faucet seemed to be the greatest invention of all. It
was considered a Godsend. Now the homeowner has a whole variety of
kitchen and bathroom faucets to choose from, even in a variety of
different colors to suit the color of your soap dispenser.
When shopping for faucets ensure
that you really do your research before finally settling for one.
Insure that what you buy will not start a leak within a few months
after purchasing it. Insist on buying quality faucets, even if it
means paying just that little bit more for a good brand. You can
select a faucet that mixes the hot and cold water or hot and cold
water separately.
Your best choice is to purchase a
faucet that has a ceramic cartridge, and if that is too expensive
for you the next choice should be one with a stainless steel
cartridge. Both are very durable and will give you long service.
Ensure that they can be cleaned easily. Do not buy faucets with
plastic handles, they break very easily. Pay attention to the finish
as the better faucets have a smoother and more even finish.
Although
there are many faucets on the market, some of the better and more
reputed brands are Delta faucets, Kohler faucets and Moen faucets.
Most home improvement supply centers carry all of these brands at
reasonable prices. Most of the Delta and Moen faucets come in a
chrome or brass finish. The chrome faucets are very popular however;
the brass faucets are more expensive. All these manufactures offer a
wide variety of accessories that compliment these faucets. The
installation instructions are quite thorough which make them easy to
install by most DIY homeowners simply by following the manufacturers
installation instructions.
